SPRC Training Institute

The SPRC Training Institute provides an array of curricula designed to build capacity for suicide prevention in state, tribal, local, and community-based organizations.

In addition to Suicide Prevention Online Training, SPRC offers the following training resources:

  • Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk: Core Competencies for Mental Health Professionals: SPRC, in partnership with the American Association of Suicidology (AAS), developed a one-day competencies-based curriculum for mental health professionals.   • Research to Practice Webinars: These interactive web-based seminars address the science of suicide prevention in practical terms. Click on the link above to view the archive of past webinars, including audio recordings and supplementary materials from each session.
  • Suicide Prevention in Juvenile Correctional Facilities: SPRC developed this two-hour curriculum for state juvenile correctional administrators. The course is disseminated by the Council of Juvenile Correctional Administrators. Click on the link above to request additional information about the course from SPRC.
  • Suicide Prevention among LGBT Youth: A Workshop for Professionals Who Serve Youth: This free workshop kit contains a Leader’s Guide, sample agenda, PowerPoint presentations, sample script, and handouts—everything needed to host a workshop on the prevention of suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth.
